How to register a domain in Nepal

Decide between a paid TLD and the free .com.np
If you're a Nepali citizen or have a registered company, .com.np is free through register.com.np but requires document verification and takes longer to activate. If you need it live today or aren't eligible, a paid TLD like .com, .net, or .org is faster.
Pick an extension
.com is the safest default for credibility. .org fits non-profits and communities. .net works for tech-adjacent brands. Newer TLDs like .online or .xyz are cheaper upfront but often renew higher — check the renewal price before committing.
Check availability
Search your desired name through a registrar's live search. Names get taken quickly, so have 2–3 backup variations ready.
Compare pricing before you commit
New-registration price isn't the full cost — check the renewal price and whether WHOIS privacy is included free or charged separately.
Register and pay
